Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and the team at Feeding Hands is ready to serve our guests. On Saturday, November 19, we’re expecting more than 200 of them to come by to pick up a turkey and all the fixins’ for a full Thanksgiving dinner!
Later this week, the preparation will begin, as a team will get together and prepare 225 bags of Thanksgiving staples for our guests. Then, on Saturday, starting at noon, there will be dozens of volunteers ready and waiting to guide our guests through the process to pick up their food. Volunteers will be there all afternoon, until 4pm, to make sure everyone is prepared for the holiday next Thursday. Additionally, teams will be at two local Shop Rite supermarkets collecting further donations, which will be used to feed dozens of guests through the winter months.
The team at Feeding Hands is exceptionally thankful to all of the volunteers and businesses who have stepped up to make this happen. We couldn’t do it without you. If you want to be part of the event, visit www.signupgenius.com. Once you’re there, look for “Find a Signup” in the upper right corner. Search by email address for hello@feedinghandspantry.org, then you can sign up from there.
Of course, if you can’t help, the team can certainly use your prayer. Specifically, pray for good weather. Pray for no snafus with the food deliveries. Pray for servant hearts for all of the volunteers. And, of course, pray for our guests!
