Impact Report 2025

A Year of More Hands

Lois Bennett, Executive Director and Founder
Feeding Hands, Inc.

2025 was tough in many ways. But Feeding Hands staff, volunteers, and donors were up to the challenge yet again! As federal budget cuts reduced support, the Feeding Hands community found new food sources and served more people than ever. We continue to shine with our culture that is not just transactional but is transformational, standing on our values:

Empathy, Connection, and Stewardship.

On this we will not waiver!

At the Community Table

Community is more than a label; it is people coming together in unity. Our Feeding Hands culture provides a sense of belonging, mutual support, and connection that many have described as “different from the moment you walk in the door.”

We see that difference in our guests every week, like when we helped a grandmother restore her disabled grandchildren’s Medicaid after they were orphaned.

I can’t thank you enough for making the connection for me with United Way of Union County. The $700 bill I thought was coming out of my social security check has been covered!

Volunteers impact

Our volunteers come for many reasons, but once immersed in our culture, they stay for the long term. Over smiles, personal stories, and authentic care, our volunteers create relationships with every guest. One volunteer schedules veterinary appointments for a guest’s pet. Another volunteer, who always brings a guest’s favorite food, shared: “Being here is the best part of my week! My job pays my bills. Feeding Hands gives me purpose and meaning.”

Feeding Hands is different. You’re not just packing boxes—you’re connecting with people. You leave knowing you made a real difference, and that keeps you coming back.

The Year Ahead

As government support declines and inflation and economic uncertainty grow, more families will need help.

To meet this demand, we must expand our staff, storage, and funding. We must grow our volunteer and donor community to continue providing emergency food assistance and compassionate support to seniors, working families, and neighbors in crisis. We hope you will join us in making 2026 the year we feed even more of our hungry neighbors.
